After completing an Ophthalmology Residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo, New York. and a Fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Dr. Kent spent 1-½ years in private corneal practice in Syracuse, New York She then moved west to join the Colorado Permanente Medical Group affiliated with Kaiser Permanente in Denver, Colorado in 1991. At Kaiser the majority of her practice involved Cornea and External Disease patients (during that time she performed over 500 corneal transplants). About 25% of her Kaiser practice involved general ophthalmology treating eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. In addition, cataract surgery and pterygium surgery were a large part of her practice. She started performing refractive surgery with the excimer laser (PRK) in 1997. |

Dr. Kent left Kaiser Permanente in 2003 to start her own private corneal practice. After office sharing in Aurora, Westminster, Wheat Ridge, and Denver with other ophthalmologists for two years, she has opened her own office adjacent to Porter Adventist Hospital at Harvard Park located at 950 E. Harvard Avenue Suite 320 as of September 6, 2005. In addition, she will continue to see patients at the Westminster office in association with Dr. Bill Self and the Aurora office with Dr. Russ Burcham. The new office at Porter offers complete eye care services. Examinations are done in our state of the art exam lanes. The Porter Eye Lab is located nearby for more specialized ocular testing including specular microscopy, fluorescein angiography, Yag laser, argon laser, OCT, HRT, and other technologies. Dr. Kent performs surgery at the well-known Center for Sight outpatient surgery center at Porter. The Clarity laser center at Porter is available for LASIK, PRK, and other refractive procedures. Having all these facilities located on one campus makes it convenient and maintains an excellence of care for our patients. |
